Vittorio Veneto & Conegliano

Rob's cousins Rosaria and Livio took us for a drive through some of the beautiful towns which are near their farm in Miane.  We stopped at Vittorio Veneto and Conegliano and wandered through their beautiful historical centres and also went to Castelbrando, a medieval castle

It was Sunday and the shops were all  closed which was probably a good thing as Conegliano had some seriously good shops. It was another beautiful autumn day and we were lucky to walk through showers of falling  leaves. Daylight saving ended today which meant that we were really on time :)  Seven hours difference between Italy and home now.

Many of the buildings are in good condition or have been restored and have fragments of original exterior paintings.

Rosaria patiently listening to my kindergarten Italian with seriously bad Australian accent -at least she can understand me

Murano: a favourite place

Spent a lovely sunny day at Murano.  It is always beautiful and I love looking at the amazing glass. Lots of incredible public art , amazing large glass structures.  Another place where we'd like to live.

Had a fantastic meal, perfect location -a restaurant with decking on the canal in warm, sunny spot. I had a spaghetti with seafood and a beautiful sauce and Rob gnocchi with a crab sauce and some grilled fish. Best meal so far -the setting helped.
